Updates – Covid-19 News 

Here are some of the COVID-19 news and updates.  COVID-19 has had quite an impact on the planet.  The world is facing quite a challenge. Economies everywhere impacted. However, the world is coming together. Most importantly, governments and organizations across industries and sectors are assisting with this matter.

The outpouring of global solidarity is phenomenal. The World Health Organization (WHO) is leading and coordinating the global effort. WHO supports countries by preventing, detecting and responding to the pandemic. People and organizations can help fight COVID-19 by donating through the COVID-Solidarity Response Fund.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease COVID-19.

SYMPTOMS – Covid-19 News

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don’t feel unwell. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment. Around 1 out of every 6 people who get COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develop difficulty breathing. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. People with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing should seek medical attention.

The COVID-19 epidemic has drastically impacted the sports and entertainment.  There are new releases to Blockbuster movies. Events and Festivals are either cancelled or postponed. Sports including MLB, NHL, NBA, NCAA March Madness, the Canadian Academy, the Junos, and more are terminating play until further notice.

We are currently in a state of emergency in Ontario.
