CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL AUTOSHOW
North Building
February 14- Feb 23, 2020
Toronto Star, Wheels.ca

I attended the Canadian International AutoShow on Wednesday February 19 and Thursday February 20. I decided to start the show at the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame Celebration of McLaren Racing. In this area, you had the opportunity to see a few race cars, listen to stories and watch videos of races.

I continued my journey at the Canadian International AutoShow over to the Auto Exotica area. The lights were low and the spotlights were on in order to set the mood to admire the cars. From Barrett-Jackson, Carravagio Corvettes, Felino Cars, Legendary Motorcar Company, Lotus, Pfaff Pagani, Pininfarina Battista, Singer, and Tesla. A DJ was playing music in the background. The cars were stunning.

On Level 300 of the Canadian International AutoShow, you can check out cars from Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, Subaru, and Volkswagen. Each auto company had ways to entertain its audience. Contests to games to prizes and/or presentations.  Level 700, you can head back to the ’80s & ’90s at the AutoShow. The Canadian International Auto Show had a replica of the DeLorean.  A time machine made famous in the 1985 blockbuster Back to the Future.  They have a replica of the black 1982 Pontiac TransAm that co-starred as K.I.T.T. with David Hasselhof in the hit TV show Knight Rider. It is a must-see provided by Oblivion Car and Culture Show.

You also had the opportunity to see some of your favourite Disney and Pixar vehicles in person. In addition, one of the largest indoor remote-controlled car demonstration test tracks and one of Canada’s leading toy retailers. You can pose and take photos with a groovy purple van that is spectacularly decked out with crescent moon windows and a Pegasus mural, as well as take photos with life-size cut-outs of Ian and Barley. Walt Disney Studios Canada also featured a life-size replica of Lightning McQueen from Disney and Pixar’s Cars films, and a life-size replica motorcycle of Canada’s greatest stuntman, Duke Caboom from “Toy Story 4.” “Cars,” “Cars 2” and “Cars 3” that are now streaming on Disney+. In the middle of Castrol Alley, Big Boys with Cool Toys, Canada‘s largest remote control hobby store, was exhibiting some of the coolest remote control products available in the industry. I got to see the excitement with my own eyes as remote control hobby vehicles were jumping 20, 30 and 40 feet in the air doing multiple backflips. It was so exciting.

This year’s Cobble Beach Classics exhibit at the Canadian International Auto Show featured 15 beautifully restored cars.  Canadian International Auto Show Level 800, had cars from Acura, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bentley, Bugatti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Genesis, Grand Touring Automobiles, Infiniti, Inkas, Jaguar, Karma, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mini, Pfaff, Porsche, Rolls Royce, and Toyota. I happened to go to a red carpet area where I was able to pick up a new hat and t-shirt at a very reasonable price.  Did you attend the auto show this year? What on What’s Good would like to know which car was your favourite?
