JFL42 Kim’s Convenience Review
CBC Kim’s Convenience held an event at JFL42 on September 22, 2019. It is a chance to find out more about the cast members. The crew included Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, Andrew Phung, Andrea Bang, and Nicole Power. The JFL42 event started off with a sneak peek of Season 4. I actually had to sign a document and was surrounded by security in order to make sure I didn’t record this gem. No spoilers. Only kidding folks.

What I learned
What I learned from this event is that Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Toon, and Andrew Phung seem very laid back. From Nicole Power, I found out that her real personality is roughly the same as her character but amped up by 100%. Andrea Bang seemed very shy. The cast went on to tell us about practical jokes on-set, stories about their time in Korea, and the process of writing a season of television.

Be creative
They were very eager to share their excitement with fans. One moment by Andrew Phung really caught my attention. He said: “Don’t be afraid of being creative.” This happens to people a lot. In my case, I always worry when finalizing my work. You start to have doubt and second guess your creativity. My mindset should be open to learning new ways to improve.

Reviewing the event
The event was very enjoyable. You had plenty of opportunities to learn about the business, discover some news about our favourite characters, and get an idea of the direction of the show. I had a wonderful time.
