Movie Review: The Craft Legacy

The Craft Legacy is a supernatural thriller movie written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones.  It is loosely based on the original film the Craft that came out in 1996.

The original ‘Craft’ was directed by Andrew Fleming.  It was written by Andrew Fleming and Peter Filardi. The stars include Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True. The story followed a group of four outcast teenage girls at a fictional Los Angeles parochial high school who pursue witchcraft for their own gain but soon encounter negative repercussions.

Express Review

In the Blumhouse version of ‘The Craft Legacy’, the witches quickly bond together to defeat a stronger enemy.  The stars in the movie include Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, with Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny.  Without giving too much, Lourdes (Zoey Luna), Tabby (Lovie Simone), and Frankie (Gideon Adlon) add a fourth member Lily (Cailee Spaeny) to complete their circle [Air, Water, Fire, and Earth].   They take on a bully at school and a warlock.

The movie was decent with a good theme. It is certainly different than the edginess and gothiness of the original.

The Craft Legacy is available now.
