Express Review

It’s an interesting film. The story follows Tom Davis. He decides to return home to live with his father. The father and son happen to have a rocky relationship. In order to make ends meet Tom agrees to work with his dad, Dr. Kirk Davis, in his home-based lab with his research assistant. He accepts the job and we learn more about Kirk’s memory-transfer technology.

Several days into the experiment, Dr. Davis is found dead under mysterious circumstances. The question is who is the killer? Video evidence shows Tom may be the killer. However, things might not be what they seem.

Tom with the help of his dad’s technology tries to figure out what really happened.

I was really impressed with actor Christian James who played Tom Davis.

Statement from Arvi Ragu

The seed for Cerebrum came from our current social behavior where all our photos, videos, shopping choices, political affiliations, financial data, and all other aspects of our daily life have been digitized. Cerebrum extends the concept to explore what will happen if our memories can be digitized as backups and used to restore it if it ever failed. Besides the sci-fi aspect, I wanted to explore the broken relationship between a father and son, and how they find a common cause to come together to understand and love each other.

Release date

The film officially premieres at WorldFest on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Cerebrum will be available On Demand on May 4, 2021.
