Puppet Adult Animation Dollhouse
‘Dollhouse’ is a puppet adult animation. It tells the behind-the-scenes story of the fictional child pop star Junie Spoons. Many terrible circumstances played a factor in this film. Dollhouse taps into how bad parenting, poor management, bad influences, horrible ex-boyfriends, and the media can lead to the rise and fall of one’s career. This film is the debut feature of writer/director Nicole Brending. The story is told by entertainment reporters.
The film is quite dark in nature. You sit and watch as a poor innocent child’s life goes from bad to worst. It is a raunchy dark comedy film created with hand-made puppets. I particularly enjoyed the visual component of the film. The songs are quite catchy and as you continue to watch the film, the videos become more graphic in nature. Other cast members include Aneikit Bonnel (Grosse Pointe Blank), Erik Hoover (The Stranger), Peter Ooley (The Life of Riley), Adam Sly, and Sydney Bonar.
I suppose what I learned from Nicole Brending’s film is that when no one has your best interest at heart and you are all alone in the game, it can sometimes be difficult to stay in control of your own life.
Rock Salt Releasing will release ‘Dollhouse: The Eradication of Female Subjectivity from American Popular Culture’ onto various digital platforms August 11th (Amazon, inDemand, FlixFling, Fandango, Vimeo on Demand).
