The Last Full Measure Review

What a fantastic job by director & screenplay writer Todd Robinson. I love the way this story was told. It was a powerful and emotional film. The Last Full Measure cast includes Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Irvine, and Peter Fonda.

It’s a story about a brave Airman William H. Pitsenbarger Jr who sacrifices his life in order to help others on the battlefield. The movie itself focuses on several dedicated individuals who work diligently to make sure William H. Pitsenbarger Jr is awarded the Medal of Honor for his service.

I jotted a few notes on a notepad in the dark as I watched the premiere at the movie theatre. A few quotes that grabbed my attention were “Nothing in this for you”, “The power of one person” & “Fear. Use it.”

The imagery was stunning. Pay close attention to the beautiful scene with butterflies. (‘Menelaus blue morpho’) This scene was powerful.

I am not one to discuss fashion but doesn’t Sebastian Stan look a little bit like 90’s Tom Cruise in certain scenes?

I went into ‘The Last Full Measure’ not really sure what to expect. In the end, I felt like this is a film you don’t want to miss. Don’t rush out the door when it is finished. Take a moment to watch the movie credits. There is a little surprise at the end.
