Once the houseguests enter the home, they are isolated from the outside world. While they are in the house, the contestants compete in different types of competitions to win power and safety inside the house. HouseGuests are evicted from the house, by being voted out of the competition. The last nine evicted HouseGuests end up on the Jury. The Jury essentially decides the winner of the season. The HouseGuest who wins gets a cash prize of $500,000.

Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the series.
