Quotes from cast members regarding the new series.

Ted Danson quote from an interview excerpt

The show is about the Mayor of Los Angeles who I play. I have a 15-16-year-old daughter who is upset with me because I decided to prove to myself that I still have something left and I ran for the Mayor during a special election.  I am a billionaire. You open with Day 1 at his first press conference and we are off and running.

Bobby Moynihan quote from an interview excerpt

The show is about Neil Bremer played by Ted Danson who is the Mayor of L.A. and how he deals with his daughter and his new job and his staff.

Holly Hunter quote from an interview excerpt

It’s about power, status, class, transactional behaviour and a desire to do good. I think it inhabits all of these things.

Vella Lovell quote from an interview excerpt

The show begins when Neil Bremer who is a retired out of touch billionaire decides to run for Mayor of L.A. and he wins.  Much to the surprise to everyone on his staff.

Mike Cabellon quote from an interview excerpt

The show is about a wealthy businessman who is happily retired but decides that he wants to do something more so he run for the mayor of Los Angeles and actually ends up winning. He now has to balance his home life with this crazy insane work life managing one of the biggest cities in America”

Kyla Kenedy quote from an interview except about Mr Mayor Series

I play Orly Bremer, Neil Bremer’s daughter. Orly is fun and smart. She is kind of going through her teenage years right now so she has a bit of an attitude sometimes.

Below are quotes from Executive Producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock

Tina Fey quote from an interview excerpt

The show is about a man named Neil Bremer played by Ted Danson who is happily retired but kind of realizes that he might need a third act in his life and run for mayor of Los Angeles just to kind of prove to his teenage daughter that he has something to contribute to the world. This is definitely not a show about politics. It is a show about people, it’s about relationships within the workplace and also about parenting and how scared you can be about your teenager.

Robert Carlock quote from an interview excerpts

Neil Bremer got to a point in his life where he has achieved a certain amount of success and he thinks he is satisfied and done and realizing maybe that he wants one more bite at the apple

The series was renewed for a second season
