Junos 2020 will be virtual this year

Great news!  Junos2020 will be a virtual event Monday, June 29 at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT). Performances include iskwē, Neon Dreams, and The Dead South. Broadcasting on CBC Gem, CBC Music’s Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter pages, and for audiences around the world at CBCMusic.ca/junos

The Junos showcase Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. The 49th Juno Awards show scheduled for 15 March 2020 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In a statement in March regarding Junos2020, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) said: “We are devastated to cancel this national celebration of music, but at this time of global uncertainty, the health, safety, and well-being of all Canadians must stand at the forefront of any decisions that impact our communities”

Quote by Allan Reid, President & CEO, CARAS/#JUNOS & MusiCounts

“We are thrilled to finally announce the JUNOS2020 and recognize all of the incredibly talented artists who’ve been waiting patiently since we had to, unfortunately, cancel JUNO Week in Saskatoon,” said Allan Reid, President & CEO, CARAS/The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts. “Thanks to the amazing support of our broadcast and content partner CBC and our presenting partner TD, along with all of our funders and partners, we’re able to celebrate the best in Canadian music this year through this special virtual #JUNOS event.”
