Initial thoughts before the film
This looks awesome. It’s good to see Sofia Coppola and Bill Murray working together again (Lost in Translation). What a fun cast with Bill Murray (Zombieland: Double Tap), Rashida Jones (Spies in Disguise), and Marlon Wayans (Sextuplets). I wonder what the father and daughter duo will find out…
Express Review
Laura (Rashida Jones), an author and mom had some concerns about her marriage. Her husband Dean (Marlon Wayans) is always away and seems very disinterested. One day, she finds a make-up case that doesn’t belong to him in his luggage. She begins to think he is having an affair with his co-worker. Laura decides to seek the assistance of her father.
When father Felix (Bill Murray), a wealthy art dealer finds out about the possible infidelity and he quickly suspects her husband may be up to something. Felix decides that they should pursue an investigation immediately.
Overall. I thought it was a great film. You get to see the relationships between a concerned daughter and an impulsive father. Plus, you get to question her husband throughout the film.
I think what I learned from this film is that communication is the key to marriage. Near the end of the movie, there is a great scene where the couple goes outside and discuss their concerns and finally air out all their issues.
What you find out however may not be exactly what you think.
